Bristol Myers Squibb employees saddled up on bicycles from the West Coast last week in the first wave of its annual “Coast 2 Coast 4 Cancer” fundraiser for cancer research, now celebrating its 10th year.
The initial group rode 225 miles from Cannon Beach, OR, over three days to hand off to the next leg of the journey that will eventually end on the East Coast in Long Branch, NJ.
This year’s fundraising goal is $1 million, which goes to the V Foundation for Cancer Research every year, and Bristol Myers will match donations dollar for dollar up to $500,000. In 2014 when the ride began, it was a US tour only, but has since expanded to Europe, Japan and Latin America.
