Has the Covid-19 pandemic goodwill halo for the pharma industry worn off? The latest US Gallup annual business sector poll shows it is slipping with a 7% drop in positive public perception. Only 18% of Americans surveyed this year rated their view of pharma as “very positive” or “somewhat positive,” down from 25% in 2022.
That puts the industry in last place among the 25 industries Gallup asked about. Even the federal government ranked higher at 21%, while oil and gas got 24%, and the legal field and advertising and public relations both captured 25% of the population’s positive perceptions.
