Health tech startups Commure and Athelas are merging with a $70M boost from General Catalyst

A pair of health tech star­tups backed by the same VC are merg­ing to com­ple­ment the ser­vices they of­fer and bring those ser­vices to more health sys­tems.

Gen­er­al Cat­a­lyst-backed health­care da­ta plat­form Com­mure and work­flow soft­ware firm Athe­las an­nounced Wednes­day their plans to com­bine. The plan is to pack­age Com­mure’s large datasets with Athe­las’s work­flow tech­nol­o­gy and then mar­ket them to Com­mure’s ex­ist­ing clien­tele of hos­pi­tals and health­care in­sti­tu­tions.
