House committee advances key PBM bills in step with Senate counterparts

The House Energy & Commerce Committee on Wednesday advanced several pieces of legislation seeking to require more transparency from pharmacy benefit managers, moving them one step closer to becoming law.

During an expansive full committee markup of more than 40 bills, the lawmakers considered a slate of healthcare proposals, including legislation that would allow for Medicare flexibilities for covering biosimilars and putting up guardrails around PBM compensation practices.
