Thermo Fisher is closing its Petaluma, CA, facility in July and will not renew its lease, a spokesperson said, with a WARN notice stating that the company is laying off 74 staffers effective February from the same site.
The Petaluma site manufactures pipette tips, microcentrifuge tubes and racks, the spokesperson added. During the pandemic, the site was one of five facilities the company invested $140 million in to boost Covid-19 vaccine production and testing.
