Generic industry group sues Illinois over drug price law

The As­so­ci­a­tion for Ac­ces­si­ble Med­i­cines sued Illi­nois At­tor­ney Gen­er­al Kwame Raoul over a law that the Wash­ing­ton, DC-based trade group says would give the state “sweep­ing pow­ers” over the price of gener­ic drug costs.

The law­suit, filed in US Dis­trict Court for the North­ern Dis­trict of Illi­nois, claims that the Re­stric­tions on Man­u­fac­tur­ers’ Amoral Be­hav­ior Through Rea­son­able Over­sight Act is un­con­sti­tu­tion­al. It asked the fed­er­al court to stop Raoul from en­forc­ing the price con­trol pro­vi­sions of the leg­is­la­tion.
