Thermo Fisher is reviewing operations at its Athlone, Ireland, facility. Closure could happen over the next two years and, if it does shut down, it would affect the site’s depot operations and possibly up to 60 employees, a spokesperson told Endpoints in an email. “We are in the early stages of a consultation process with the colleagues whose roles may be affected this year,” the spokesperson added. The site was previously owned by PPD before the CRO was purchased by Thermo Fisher in 2021.
