With no buyer yet for Takeda’s manufacturing site in Austria, the company is winding down operations at the location and is laying off 190 workers, a spokesperson told Endpoints News.
The Japanese company informed employees a year ago that it planned to divest its facility in Orth an der Donau, which is almost an hour away from Vienna, the spokesperson said. And still without a buyer, staffers were told last month that the facility’s R&D and manufacturing operations would wind down.
