Lonza taps Siegfried leader Wolfgang Wienand as new CEO

Lon­za named Wolf­gang Wien­and as its new CEO on Tues­day morn­ing, re­plac­ing in­ter­im leader Al­bert Baehny this sum­mer.

Wien­and has been with the CD­MO Siegfried for al­most 14 years, in­clud­ing five years as CEO. Pri­or to Siegfried, he held se­nior po­si­tions at the Ger­man chem­i­cals com­pa­ny Evonik In­dus­tries.

“With his proven lead­er­ship ca­pa­bil­i­ties, Wolf­gang is ide­al­ly placed to act as an am­bas­sador for our busi­ness and lead our col­league com­mu­ni­ty as Lon­za en­ters the next chap­ter of its growth jour­ney,” Baehny said in a state­ment.
