A group of bipartisan members of Congress, spearheaded by Reps. Troy Balderson (R-OH) and Ann Kuster (D-NH), sent a letter to FDA Commissioner Rob Califf to ensure the agency appropriately implements the final portions of the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), which go into effect later this year.
One provision that goes into effect by November 27 mandates that all US manufacturers, distributors and dispensers begin electronically capturing and sharing data at the package level, allowing the chain of a product to be tracked from manufacturing to its final destination.
