As India grows its biologics market, Aragen builds new $30M facility

Ara­gen Life Sci­ences is launch­ing a new $30 mil­lion bi­o­log­ics man­u­fac­tur­ing site in Ban­ga­lore due to grow­ing de­mand, the In­dia-based drug man­u­fac­tur­er said Mon­day.

The com­pa­ny’s new 160,000-square-me­ter site will house process de­vel­op­ment labs and GMP man­u­fac­tur­ing suites for the pro­duc­tion of mon­o­clon­al an­ti­bod­ies, ther­a­peu­tic pro­teins and fu­sion pro­teins. The process de­vel­op­ment lab will go on­line some­time be­tween Ju­ly and Sep­tem­ber next year, and the first man­u­fac­tur­ing suite will open in the third quar­ter of 2025.
