Bausch Health’s Salix initiates first awareness day for opioid-induced constipation

Sal­ix Phar­ma­ceu­ti­cals is part­ner­ing with two ad­vo­ca­cy groups to es­tab­lish a first-ever opi­oid-in­duced con­sti­pa­tion (OIC) aware­ness day to help dis­pel the stig­ma and si­lence around the con­di­tion.

To­day, Dec. 5, has been of­fi­cial­ly rec­og­nized as OIC Aware­ness Day in the Na­tion­al Day Archives thanks to Sal­ix, the US Pain Foun­da­tion and the In­ter­na­tion­al Foun­da­tion for Gas­troin­testi­nal Dis­or­ders. Along with a new­ly launched web­site for pa­tients, care­givers and health­care pro­fes­sion­als, Sal­ix is work­ing with Tik­Tok so­cial me­dia in­flu­encers who will ad­vo­cate on their chan­nels for hon­est, open con­ver­sa­tions around OIC and dri­ve traf­fic to the cam­paign web­site along with a “Voic­es of OIC” hash­tag, #vOIC­e­sO­fOIC.
