Bipartisan group of senators calls for ways to improve 340B drug discount program

A bipartisan group of US senators has released a congressional call to the public for ideas and policy solutions on how to improve the 340B program as pharma companies continue to put new restrictions on their participation in it, and industry groups say they want to modernize it.

Established in 1992, 340B is a federal health program that requires pharma companies to offer discounts on their drugs to hospitals and other health centers that treat low-income patients.
