The CDC’s vaccine advisory panel voted 13-1 to recommend an updated Covid-19 booster for people ages 6 months and older, a day after the FDA cleared Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna’s new shots.
The updated shots target the XBB.1.5 variant and were fully approved for people ages 12 and older. The shots were granted emergency use authorization, a lower bar that still allows broad use, for children 6 months to 11 years.
