Chinese imports of common cancer drug run dry, FDA says

Chi­na’s Qilu Phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal has dis­trib­uted all of the chemother­a­py cis­platin that was im­port­ed as a re­sult of the short­age of the com­mon can­cer drug.

The an­nounce­ment was made via FDA’s drug short­age page for cis­platin as of Sept. 18. Oth­er up­dates from Mon­day in­clud­ed Fre­se­nius Kabi say­ing its sup­plies of the drug are on back­o­rder, but WG Crit­i­cal Care says it has some sup­plies un­der al­lo­ca­tion.
