The federal government has released the latest round of Medicare coinsurance savings under the Inflation Reduction Act’s rebate program.
The legislation enacted last summer requires rebates to Medicare on certain drugs with prices rising faster than the rate of inflation. A total of 34 Part B drugs will have adjusted coinsurance rates for the Oct. 1 to Dec. 31 period, resulting in savings for seniors between $1 and $618 per average dose, according to CMS, higher than last quarter’s maximum $449 per average dose despite a slightly shorter list.
