CMS to kick off Medicare drug price negotiation listening sessions next week

As CMS and phar­ma com­pa­nies pre­pare to hash out the first round of Medicare drug price ne­go­ti­a­tion pro­vi­sions of the In­fla­tion Re­duc­tion Act, CMS will hold a se­ries of lis­ten­ing ses­sions for pa­tients to weigh in on Medicare’s ne­go­ti­a­tion pro­gram start­ing Mon­day.

The 90-minute ses­sions will oc­cur be­tween Oct. 30 and Nov. 15, each fo­cus­ing on an in­di­vid­ual drug that CMS se­lect­ed for the first round of 10 price ne­go­ti­a­tions. The ses­sions will be lim­it­ed to pa­tient ex­pe­ri­ences, and CMS will not pro­vide di­rect feed­back on their com­ments.
