DeSantis, Johnson raise flags around Covid boosters as FDA maintains that they’re safe and effective

This past week, Sen. Ron John­son (R-WI) pressed pub­lic health of­fi­cials over con­cerns that Covid-19 shots from cer­tain lots are as­so­ci­at­ed with a greater risk of ad­verse events.

On the cam­paign trail, Re­pub­li­can pres­i­den­tial can­di­date and Flori­da Gov. Ron De­San­tis made a base­less claim that tak­ing Covid boost­ers makes peo­ple more like­ly to get the virus.

The FDA, mean­while, main­tains that Covid vac­cines work and are safe.
