Elon Musk’s brain-computer interface startup is officially recruiting paralysis patients for its first in-human trial.
Neuralink announced Tuesday that it has received approval from an independent review board and its first hospital site to start recruitment, following a statement in May that it had received trial clearance from the FDA. The company is looking for patients with quadriplegia caused by cervical spinal cord injury or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), though it remains unclear how many patients will be enrolled. Neuralink did not respond to requests for comment as of press time on Wednesday.
