Emergent BioSolutions CEO Robert Kramer announces retirement

Robert Kramer, the CEO of con­tract man­u­fac­tur­er Emer­gent BioSo­lu­tions, is re­tir­ing af­ter more than two decades, in­clud­ing lead­ing the com­pa­ny through a some­times-tur­bu­lent Covid-19 pan­dem­ic.

Kramer’s re­tire­ment is ef­fec­tive im­me­di­ate­ly, Emer­gent said Tues­day, and Hay­wood Miller, a man­ag­ing di­rec­tor at the con­sult­ing firm Berke­ley Re­search Group, will be serv­ing as in­ter­im CEO. Emer­gent said it will use a search firm to look for a new leader, but didn’t give a time­line on fill­ing the seat.
