The European Commission on Tuesday laid out the road map for its new advisory committee, the Critical Medicines Alliance initiative, which aims to mitigate drug shortages in Europe over the next five years.
The EC’s Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority is launching the alliance which will become the “industrial arm” of the European Health Union for the next five years. The alliance will commence work in the spring with its first recommendations on how to improve the supply of critical medicines, which will be published by autumn this year, according to the press release.
