Ahead of this winter, the European Commission (EC) has adopted new strategies to address drug shortages by allowing countries to share medicines, making regulation more flexible and boosting manufacturing capacity.
“We need a single market for medicines in the EU and a new approach to better tackle shortages of critical medicines,” Stella Kyriakides, Commissioner for Health and Food Safety said in the press release.
