Herbert “Skip” Virgin is no longer the chief medical officer at Hal Barron and Rick Klausner’s $3 billion anti-aging startup Altos Labs, just a little over a year after the renowned immunology researcher took on the role, he confirmed to Endpoints News via email.
Virgin, a researcher with decades of experience in immunology, was also the head of Altos Institute of Medicine. The sprawling but quiet startup also has three institutes of science in San Diego, the Bay Area and Cambridge, UK. Aside from a massive pool of money, the cellular rejuvenation company also has a star-studded board, which includes Nobel laureates like Frances Arnold and CRISPR pioneer Jennifer Doudna.
