‘FDA is not a physician,’ appeals court rules in case against agency’s ivermectin messaging

An appeals court on Friday revived a lawsuit that several doctors filed against the FDA last year, alleging that the agency overstepped its authority in its messaging when advising Americans against using ivermectin to treat coronavirus.

The ruling goes back to a campaign the FDA unrolled in 2021 urging the public against using ivermectin to treat Covid-19, which included a series of tweets with messages like “You are not a horse,” and “Stop it with the #ivermectin.”
