The federal government is bracing for a shutdown if lawmakers on Capitol Hill can’t rally enough votes to keep the government funded by the end of the week. The pending shutdown could come with some major implications for both the government agencies regulating pharma and pharma itself.
If Congress fails to pass a continuing resolution by midnight tomorrow, the FDA would still be able to continue operations like reviewing new medical products and issuing guidance with the support of industry user fees, the agency explains in its government shutdown contingency plan.
