A few years ago, when Beth Seidenberg searched for a biotech VC leader to help steer the next wave of investments at Westlake Village BioPartners, she was determined to find a woman to fill the role.
“I only interviewed women at that point,” Seidenberg said. “Somebody like myself, who has been in the industry now investing for about 20 years, if I’m not going to be focusing on bringing the next generation of women forward, then who will be? It really does have to be a deliberate effort.”
