Fore! Amgen to become title sponsor of Irish Open

Am­gen’s $28 bil­lion Hori­zon Ther­a­peu­tics takeover came with rare in­flam­ma­to­ry dis­ease med­i­cines and, ap­par­ent­ly, a tee time.

The com­pa­ny will be­come ti­tle spon­sor of the Irish Open start­ing in 2024, hon­or­ing a com­mit­ment made by Hori­zon when it start­ed spon­sor­ing the event in 2022. Am­gen said in an an­nounce­ment on Thurs­day that the spon­sor­ship “marks an im­por­tant mile­stone” in its his­to­ry in Ire­land. For the first time since 2015, next year’s edi­tion will re­turn to Roy­al Coun­ty Down in North­ern Ire­land from Sept. 11-15.
