France looks to boost its domestic supply of drugs

It is no se­cret that the US has been star­ing down short­ages of drugs rang­ing from an­tibi­otics such as amox­i­cillin to com­mon can­cer treat­ments, but the EU has been fac­ing short­ages as well, and France is look­ing to try and mit­i­gate fu­ture short­ages.

Ear­li­er this week, French Pres­i­dent Em­manuel Macron post­ed a state­ment on Twit­ter, trans­lat­ed from French, that too many peo­ple are fac­ing short­ages of phar­ma­ceu­ti­cals and that the sit­u­a­tion is “un­ac­cept­able.” Macron’s post con­tin­ued by stat­ing that the gov­ern­ment is “de­ploy­ing so­lu­tions” to al­le­vi­ate the sit­u­a­tion.
