From Apple to Lilly: Drugmaker’s chief digital officer talks AI experiments and the GLP-1 customer experience

Before joining Lilly two years ago to lead the company’s tech efforts, Diogo Rau oversaw engineering for Apple’s retail businesses. In his new role, he wants to use tech to change how consumers interact with the pharmaceutical industry.

Rau spoke with Endpoints News about how he sees tech transforming pharma companies like Lilly, the way he vets AI applications inside Lilly and why he thinks there’s an opportunity to bring a more consumer-friendly experience to GLP-1 medications. His purview now at the pharma giant includes everything from IT to information security, digital health and machine learning/AI.
