GSK settles key Zantac case ahead of trial

GSK has set­tled a key Zan­tac case in Cal­i­for­nia state court, the com­pa­ny an­nounced Fri­day.

The case, filed by James Goetz who al­leged the pop­u­lar heart­burn med­ica­tion caused his blad­der can­cer, would have been the first Zan­tac case to go to tri­al and was sched­uled to be­gin next month. GSK said in a state­ment Fri­day that it reached a con­fi­den­tial set­tle­ment with Goetz, dis­miss­ing the case with­out ad­mit­ting any li­a­bil­i­ty.
