House Dems seek briefings with Pfizer, Sandoz and Teva on ongoing drug shortages

De­moc­rats on the House over­sight com­mit­tee are ask­ing man­u­fac­tur­ers of sev­er­al drugs in short sup­ply — in­clud­ing an­tibi­otics, can­cer drugs and AD­HD med­ica­tions — to share their plans for re­solv­ing the short­ages, which have dragged on for more than a year.

Let­ters went to Te­va, which makes the AD­HD med­ica­tion Adder­all; San­doz, which makes the pow­der ver­sion of amox­i­cillin; and Pfiz­er, which along with its sub­sidiaries makes com­mon can­cer drugs in­clud­ing cis­platin, car­bo­platin and methotrex­ate.
