Insurance giant UnitedHealth shares tumble with higher medical expenses despite strong earnings

Ris­ing med­ical costs are wor­ry­ing in­vestors even as Unit­ed­Health Group post­ed strong over­all fourth-quar­ter re­sults.

The in­sur­ance gi­ant clocked an an­nu­al rev­enue of $371.6 bil­lion, up 15% from a year ago. Ad­just­ed earn­ings of $6.16 a share over the past quar­ter al­so sur­passed Wall Street es­ti­mates.
