A study in Cell Reports Medicine used an in vitro co-culture of adipocytes, cardiomyocytes, and sympathetic neurons to reveal that the adipose-neural axis plays a crucial role in arrhythmogenesis, driven by interactions between epicardial adipose tissue and the sympathetic nervous system.
