Expanding Access to Tailored, Cost-Effective Obesity Treatment
knownwell, a provider of in-person and virtual weight-inclusive primary care, announced its acquisition of Alfie Health, an AI-powered obesity management clinic. This strategic move aims to enhance knownwell’s comprehensive care model with Alfie’s ObesityRx™ platform, which uses patient medical history to deliver data-driven, cost-effective treatment strategies.
This acquisition will integrate Alfie’s technology with knownwell’s evidence-based approach, improving clinical decision support and scaling high-quality metabolic health treatments. This collaboration seeks to shift the healthcare narrative towards comprehensive obesity treatment strategies, beyond the growing popularity and cost of GLP-1 medications.
Alexander Singh, Founder and CEO of Alfie Health, will join knownwell as Head of Analytics. Singh emphasized the strategic benefits of the merger: “This acquisition by knownwell helps us deliver on our mission to provide patients in need with best-in-class obesity management. knownwell’s leadership, clinical expertise, and hybrid model will strengthen our high-touch care approach to improve patient results.”
Additionally, knownwell has appointed its first C-suite executives: James Chaukos as Chief Operating Officer and John Frager as Chief Growth Officer. Chaukos, previously with Cricket Health, brings extensive experience in value-based care, while Frager, formerly of Carbon Health, will focus on expanding relationships with health systems and provider groups.
