At COP28 in Dubai on Monday, Schneider Electric announced a new cohort of pharma companies joining its now 2-year-old “Energize” renewable energy program specifically for life science companies. New sponsors including Boehringer Ingelheim, Charles River, Roche, Merck KgAA and Haleon round out the now 20 companies in five power purchasing buying groups across the EU, UK and North America.
The newest members join the 10 founding pharmas — AstraZeneca, Biogen, GSK, Johnson & Johnson, Merck/MSD, Novartis, Novo Nordisk, Pfizer, Sanofi and Takeda — in working together to transition their supply chains to renewable energy sources.
