When it comes to artificial intelligence, Moderna is all in.
Chief brand officer Kate Cronin took the stage Tuesday at this year’s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity to discuss how the company is using AI and other digital tools to drive inclusivity.
“We’re embedding AI in everything that we do,” she said in an interview with Endpoints News.
That includes recruiting for and conducting clinical trials, she said, referencing the company’s landmark COVE study evaluating its first-generation mRNA-based Covid-19 vaccine. After emerging as an early leader in the race for a Covid vaccine, Moderna took a step back in 2020, slowing Phase III enrollment to recruit a more diverse trial population. Researchers used AI to learn the likely demographics of certain zip codes and predict attrition to better drive recruitment and retention.
