Novo Nordisk is putting up about $556 million, or 4 billion yuan, to amp up its manufacturing capacity in China, the company announced Tuesday.
Novo held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project on Tuesday, which featured leaders from the Danish embassy in China, the Tianjin municipality and other officials. It marked the 30th anniversary of Novo doing business in China. The project is aimed at using isolator technology, which creates a barrier between the sterile product and the surrounding environment, to improve the production process.
