Texas doctor Oscar Lightner, MD, was sentenced to 7 years in prison for operating a pill mill clinic that prescribed more than 600,000 pills of opioids in exchange for cash payments ranging from $250 to $500, according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).
Three Texas doctors and a hospital executive have agreed to pay more than $880,000 to settle allegations that they took illegal kickbacks in return for ordering lab tests, the DOJ reported.
