Ophthalmic drugs face FDA issues again, one manufacturer responsible for 26 contaminated products

The FDA has warned customers not to purchase or use 26 over-the-counter eye drops from six different brands due to risk of eye infections that can cause “partial vision loss or blindness,” as per an FDA report.

All 26 eye drop products are produced by one unnamed manufacturer who was told on Oct. 25 to recall all batches of its eye drops after an FDA inspection found unsanitary conditions at its facility, including positive bacterial test results that could lead to product contamination.
