Physicians today are generally positive about mRNA vaccines, but many are concerned about the misinformation they hear from patients.
Almost two-thirds (65%) of healthcare professionals pointed to misinformation and conspiracy theories as “major hurdles” in mRNA vaccine adoption, according to a recent ZoomRx survey.
“The challenges we found were around [patient] misinformation and mistrust,” said Conrad Walgren, senior director, marketing at ZoomRx. “Side effects were also mentioned as another key concern, so going forward for biopharma companies, there’s definitely not only an opportunity but I think a need to develop more targeted educational campaigns.”
