Altesa BioSciences has raised a $35 million Series A from undisclosed investors, according to an SEC filing from July. The company develops antiviral drugs for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease from viruses that cause the common cold.
The College Park, GA-based startup is led by Brett Giroir, the former assistant secretary for health in the Department of Health and Human Services during the Trump administration, acting FDA commissioner and admiral.
