Senator questions CVS, Walgreens about growth in 340B participation

Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), a ranking member on the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, requested information from CVS Health and Walgreens Boots Alliance about their roles as the largest pharmacy participants in the federal government’s 340B program, which provides outpatient drugs at a discount to low-income patients.

CVS is the largest contract pharmacy participant in the 340B program, according to Cassidy’s letter, with Walgreens following closely behind.
