Two high-ranking senators are once again pushing to force pharma companies to include the price of drugs in direct-to-consumer advertising.
Sens. Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA) are renewing longstanding efforts, with Grassley filing their co-sponsored “Drug-price Transparency for Consumers Act of 2023” as an amendment to the Finance Committee’s mark-up in July, a Durbin spokesperson told Endpoints News. Meanwhile, Durbin capitalized on the attention to the Medicare drug price negotiation list announced Tuesday with a call-to-action post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
