UBC to bolster safety functions with Oracle’s cloud technology

Pharmaceutical support services provider United BioSource (UBC) has selected Oracle Life Sciences’ safety case management solution, Oracle Argus Cloud Service, to bolster its safety functions.

The company has shifted its safety functions to Oracle’s cloud technology from on-premises.

Leveraging Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s functionality and reliability, Oracle Argus Cloud Service will offer robust safety case processing to UBC for clinical trials and programmes.

Through routine step automation, which cuts down manual work and reduces processing times, the technology will also aid UBC in streamlining its workflow.

Oracle Argus Cloud Service serves as the primary repository for the documentation of all information related to adverse events, such as source documents, evaluations and regulatory reports.

It also serves as the lone source of truth for signal detection and downstream aggregate analytics.

Adopting cloud technology offers UBC expertise in meeting worldwide regulations and standards and reducing expenditure and complexity by deploying SaaS [software as a service].

Further benefits include easy-to-use analytics and reports and lower ownership costs.

UBC chief information officer Nathan Thompson stated: “Oracle Argus Cloud Service provides a powerful innovative, agile and secure technology that can enable us to better manage all safety aspects of even our most complex trials.

“Using a cloud-based safety solution reduces operational complexities and helps refocus our valuable resources on other parts of the business. We value our ongoing collaboration with Oracle for the development of its next-generation safety technology.”
