And here is our regular feature in which we highlight a different person each week. This time around, we note that Pelage Pharmaceuticals hired Qing Yu Christina Weng as chief medical officer. Previously, she worked at Kira Pharma, where she was head of business development and strategy.

But all work and no play can make for a dull chief medical officer. So in her spare time, Weng enjoys gardening. “I have a patio garden so in the summer months, I grow tomatoes, which are pretty easy to grow and you can use to make a lot of different things, especially salads, she said. “But right now, it’s winter here in Boston, so I grow indoor plants. They thrive better on neglect, unlike outdoor plants that you have to water every day. But I want to build a greenhouse back in San Diego, where I spend some of my time.”
