WakeMed to Deploy Regard’s AI Clinical Automation Platform Across Enterprise

What You Should Know:

WakeMed Health & Hospitals and Regard today announced a 3-year enterprise agreement to deploy Regard’s AI clinical automation tool to the system’s 3 acute care hospitals by the end of 2024. Regard will allow for improved documentation quality, and in turn, decrease physician burnout and improve patient care.

– The deployment of Regard’s AI-powered clinical automation platform aims to enhance documentation quality, reduce physician burden, and ultimately, improve patient care.

A Focus on Quality Improvement Through Technology

WakeMed is actively driving system-wide efforts to improve patient care through better documentation. Regard’s technology employs AI and proprietary algorithms to generate valuable clinical insights. This not only streamlines workflows but also enhances patient care, all without adding extra tasks for busy clinicians.

How Regard Works to Benefit Patients and Providers

Regard’s AI solution seamlessly integrates into the EHR, automatically reviewing a patient’s entire clinical data to identify crucial information. This frees up valuable physician time, allowing them to focus on what matters most: delivering personalized, high-quality care to their patients. Here are some specific ways Regard benefits both parties:

  • Improved Diagnoses: Regard acts as a safety net, analyzing all data to ensure critical diagnoses, such as sepsis, atrial fibrillation, or chronic conditions, are not missed or delayed.
  • Smoother Care Transitions: Regard’s technology ensures continuity of care during patient handoffs by providing new attending physicians with all the necessary details for a swift and informed takeover.
  • Enhanced Medication Safety: Regard plays a vital role in medication safety by identifying potential issues like missed medications or double-dosing, preventing errors before they happen.

“We are thrilled to integrate Regard’s capabilities throughout all WakeMed hospitals to improve patient care by surfacing critical information that exists within the EMR,” said Nate Wilson, Regard’s chief operating officer and co-founder. “WakeMed is pushing the boundaries of innovation and we can’t wait to see the notable impact this will bring for patients and physicians over the next three years.”
