WuXi AppTec is enlisting more lobbyists to represent its interests before Congress, where China hawks have pushed for limits on how the company works with US biotech and pharma companies.
According to a federal lobbying disclosure dated March 11, WuXi last month hired Alexander Lurie, a former chief of staff to Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), and John Russell, a former deputy chief of staff to former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert (R-IL).
